Every place on Bukisha Stays shows its policy before you book, and the app shows your exact refund before you cancel.
Moderate
full refund up to 5 days before, 50% after that, none after check-in.
Strict
50% refund up to 7 days before, none after.
How a refund is worked out
Your refund is the policy's share of what you paid, less the Bukisha fee. A refund leaves out the Bukisha fee, which is kept once a payment has gone through.
For example: you paid KES 10,000, the Bukisha fee on it was KES 650, and you cancel when the policy gives back 50%. Half of KES 10,000 is KES 5,000; less the fee of KES 650, you get back KES 4,350.
When the host cancels
If the host cancels your confirmed stay, you get back everything you paid, fee included.
Leaving early, or not arriving
There is no refund for the nights you do not use, whether you leave early or do not arrive.
When the money arrives
A refund goes back the way you paid, by card or M-Pesa, and can take some days to reach you. Each refund has a receipt in the app.
