Bukisha

Setting up host payouts

Your share of each guest's payment is paid to you automatically. Here is what you need, and how it works.

What you need

  • Your identity verified with Bukisha's ID check, as for every landlord.
  • Your KRA PIN.
  • A bank account or an M-Pesa number, in your own name or your business's name.
  • For a business name, the business's documents, if we ask for them.

Setting it up

In the Bukisha app, open Hosting, then Menu, then Payouts, and fill in your details. You confirm them with your password. The Bukisha team then checks the account with Paystack, our payment provider, and your places can take bookings once it is ready.

When you are paid

Each payment is split as the guest pays: your share goes to your account, and Bukisha keeps its fee (see pricing). Paystack pays your share automatically, two working days after the payment.

Changing your payout account

Add the new account the same way. Your old account keeps receiving until the new one has been checked, so no payment is lost on the way.

Refunds and chargebacks

When a guest is refunded, or a guest's bank reverses a payment, the amount becomes money you owe Bukisha. It is taken from your share of your next payments, or you can pay it in the app under What I owe. While you owe more than the limit, your places take no new bookings.
